Band Website

https://elliswarren20.wixsite.com/mysite

Here is a link to my website for my band. I have created this on Wix which is a platform for making websites. I have included links on my website to an Instagram account that I made for the band as well as a link to the final music video on YouTube. I have wrote a article on the about page and also added photos to a gallery for the audience to view. I analysed some indie band websites before creating my own in order to get conventions of the genre. I have kept the theme of black and white throughout to link all of my production pieces. I have made the website interactive for the audience which makes it authentic as all of the bands I researched such as Kaiser Chiefs had links to social media. I decided to make a website instead of another platform such as a band poster as I felt it would be more challenging and would reflect my genre better.

Credits For Back Cover

I have researched what is in a typical digipak. This meant that I researched in depth the back cover. There are conventions for this such as credits, song titles, barcodes and logos of the companies involved. This resulted in planning what companies to use and researching the genre. It also meant that I have wrote my own credits being inspired by other indie bands credits and looking what is common in the credits. I have therefore wrote my own:

Album Front Cover Example

For my digipak I have decided to conduct some planning before creating my final piece. I have done this by creating a back and front cover example. This allows me to play around with various platforms such as Photoshop and PowerPoint before choosing my platform for my final digipak. I have used black and white as this was used in my music video and makes a clear link between the two. I have decided to use music symbols which I think has turned out well. I may use this idea in my final piece as I think it works well. The planning allowed me to get feedback from my examples to help me make decisions on changes and what to keep. I also decided to plan in order to know what images I needed to take whilst filming. This helps me plan ahead for filming to save time for the actors and myself. The images I have used on my example are from Google therefore I can see what styles image I want to take and make a list to shoot whilst filming.

Changes To Actors

As a team, we have decided to change our actors for our music video. This was due to lack of availability with our producers and actors which meant we had limited time which wasn't feasible for both parties. This forced us to change actors as time is becoming an issue to people without responsibilities such as part time jobs and hobbies to allow flexibility. We were becoming increasingly worried as our times that overlapped with actors were of limited availability meaning we would not have time to do more shots than needed in case we wanted make slight changes in the editing stage. Changing the actors has made us both more determined to film at a high standard allowing clean editing and an overall professional looking music video.
